The Ontario Superior Court of Justice has violated Lorence Hud’s Charter Rights, which means that Lorence Hud can now Appeal by Right to a higher court, pursuant to section 24 (1) of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
On May 26, 2020, after the Crown withdrew the FALSE charges for the third time, The Honourable Justice P. Bradley upheld Lorence Hud’s Charter Rights by Ordering a hearing for costs owed to him by the Crown and then adjourned the Court to set a date for the hearing he Ordered .
By January 22, 2025, the hearing Ordered by Justice Bradley on May 26, 2020, had already been adjourned ten times. But in spite of the ten previous adjournments, Justice Wilcox adjourned it again, to March 24, 2025, where it was adjourned again by Justice Nadeau, after which it was adjourned yet again on April 10, 2025, by Justice Ellies who, on May 30, 2025, refused to provide any of the dates that Lorence Hud had requested.

UPDATE: April 12, 2025
On April 10, 2025, in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Lorence Hud brought his Charter Application and Justice Bradley’s ORDER for a hearing for costs owed to him by the Crown, as well as Justice Nadeau’s ORDER that upheld Lorence’s Motion for Court Discovery, which struck down the Crown’s Rule 2.1 requests for dismissal. But Justice Ellies indicated that he would grant the Rule 2.1 requests, thereby striking down Justice Nadeau’s ORDER. Lorence then stated on the Record that he would Appeal and asked for the ORDERS, to which Justice Ellies replied that he was going on vacation, so it would take a long time for him to issue his ORDERS. But something obviously changed Justice Ellies’ mind, because the very next day he issued his ORDERS and made no mention of any Rule 2.1 request.
Lorence Hud’s Charter Rights Case is now adjourned to May 30, 2025, after the Crown served and filed their List of Documents, in response to which Lorence served and filed his Affidavit of Documents, pursuant to the March 24, 2025, ORDER of Justice Nadeau.

Lorence Hud’s Charter Application was before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice on March 24, 2025, as a result of the fact that after the FALSE charges against Lorence Hud were withdrawn on July 15, 2019, and even after his Application for a charter remedy pursuant to sections 7, 8, 9, 10(a), 10(b) and 12 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the Charter, was served on His Majesty the King, then Her Majesty the Queen, the Crown on September 6, 2019, His Majesty the King continued violating Lorence Hud’s Charter rights, by continuing to charge him again and again with the SAME FALSE charges in the Ontario Court of Justice under different sections of the Criminal Code.
On May 26, 2020, The Honourable Justice P. Bradley Ordered a hearing for costs after the Crown withdrew the FALSE charges for the third time by withdrawing a Charter infringing Application for a Prohibition Order under section 111 of the Criminal Code, which proved to Justice Bradley that the Crown violated Lorence Hud’s section 11(h), Charter right to Protection Against Double Jeopardy, by continuing to charge him with the SAME FALSE charges that the Crown withdrew on July 15, 2019.
Lorence Hud’s Application for Mandamus was also before the Court to obtain a date for the hearing for costs that was Ordered by The Honourable Justice P. Bradley on May 26, 2020.
At the Judicial Pre-trial on March 24, 2025, The Honourable Justice David J. The Ontario Court of Justice gave FALSE information to The Honourable Justice Wilcox in response to Lorence Hud's first Application for Mandamus, so Lorence Hud filed a second Application for Mandamus, which was issued by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice on February 7, 2025.
UPDATE: January 25, 2025
On December 20, 2024, Justice Ellies Ordered an Assignment Court for January 24, 2025, to confirm that the hearing for costs that was Ordered by The Honourable Justice P. Bradley in the Ontario Court of Justice on May 26, 2020, shall be held before the Judicial Pre-trial.

But at the Assignment Court Justice Ellies changed his position and referred Lorence Hud to the January 22, 2025, Endorsement of Justice Wilcox, which states in paragraph 17, “the information that I had was that there was no application before the Ontario Court of Justice.”, which means that the Ontario Court of Justice gave Justice Wilcox FALSE information, as you can see for yourself by reading the Application, which we have published below.
The Application for a Prohibition Order under section 111 of the Criminal Code was filed in violation of section 11(h) of the Charter, since the FALSE charges had already been filed and withdrawn twice under different sections of the Criminal Code, which is why The Honourable Justice P. Bradley Ordered a hearing for costs.
The Notice of Hearing was issued by the Ontario Court of Justice, which proves that the Ontario Court of Justice gave Justice Wilcox FALSE information, as you can see for yourself by reading the Notice of Hearing below.
At the Assignment Court on January 24, 2025, Lorence Hud read the above Application and Notice of Hearing into the Court Record and informed the Court that he will file another Application for Mandamus to transfer the hearing that was Ordered by Justice Bradley from the Ontario Court of Justice up to the Superior Court of Justice so that the hearing can be held in the SCJ because of the bias in the OCJ, which is proven by the fact that the OCJ gave FALSE information to Justice Wilcox.

The Ontario Superior Court of Justice issued HUD v. HIS MAJESTY THE KING, Court File No.: CV-25-00000002-0000, Lorence Hud's Application for Mandamus and Certiorari. He filed for a Writ of Mandamus in order to obtain a a Date for his Charter Rights Hearing in the SCJ and to QUASH the illegally convened reference hearing with a Writ of Certiorari.

Lorence Hud’s Charter Rights Case is now in the Supreme Court of Canada, SCC Portal Electronic Filing Confirmation Number: 2024-06-p32-55p.
Court Documents now before the Supreme Court of Canada prove that the Federal Court of Appeal disregarded the Evidence that was before the Court.
Lorence Hud does not now, nor did he ever, owe any tax of any kind whatsoever.
The FCA disregarded the Crown letter conceding his Charter rights were violated.
A secret drain tax court judgment was obtained by fraud and used for a tax sale with No Notice, leading to the illegal and violent seizure of his home and Tax Records.
He cannot compute his taxable income without his Tax Records.
The FALSE charges were withdrawn on July 15, 2019.
The Government refuses to return his illegally and violently seized home and Tax Records, making it impossible for him to file tax returns.

The NDP and Liberals have not yet responded but Lorence has received a very positive response in an email that was kindly sent to him from the Office of the Leader of the Official Opposition, The Honourable Pierre Poilievre.

Myles told Lorence that he wanted to have a jukebox in his music room and after looking around he found one that had a great sound and was a perfect fit in every way. When the jukebox arrived and was set up in his music room Myles was anxious to give it a try, so he went to look at the records that were in the machine and he saw "Sign of the Gypsy Queen". Myles knew the record well from hearing it on the radio in Montreal and he was happy to be able to find out what that single from Lorence Hud's first album sounded like on the beautiful Jukebox in his music room. When he selected "Sign of the Gypsy Queen" Myles loved the sound that came out of his jukebox and thought "Sign of the Gypsy Queen" would be perfect for April Wine, so he took it to the band and they loved it too. The rest is history.
BTW, Lorence Hud did not know about the April Wine version of "Sign of the Gypsy Queen" until after the Nature of the Beast album was released in the United States. After the events in the attached meme Myles called Lorence from the road about a new tape and they discussed the artist's poetic licence to interpret any song in any way, with freedom to improvise by adding or subtracting notes or words to suit the artist's unique interpretation.

On July 12, 2023, the Tax Court of Canada confirmed that on July 11, 2023, the Affidavit of Sheila Yarnell, Eyewitness to Illegal Seizure of Appellant's Home by the Respondent, Reference Number: WEB851113, was filed in the Registry of the Court and is now heading for the Federal Court of Appeal.
As you can see in paragraph 6 of the Affidavit, Lorence Hud heard a loud noise but DID NOT SEE ANYONE. And in paragraph 7, you can read the fact that Lorence Hud was TALKING ON THE PHONE TO THE ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE WHEN APPROXIMATELY 8-10 MEN STORMED INTO THE HOME. In paragraph 9 you can read the words of Lorence Hud: "I am not resisting", while some of the Storm Troopers kept him pinned face-down on the floor so hard that he could barely breath and other Storm Troopers jumped up and down on his back yelling: "STOP RESISTING! STOP RESISTING!"
The three explosions in paragraph 10 is eyewitness Testimony to the fact that the Police shot the then 70-year-old innocent Canadian citizen three times, after which he was viciously Assaulted and Battered and then transported by ambulance, shackled and in handcuffs, in shock and bleeding, to the now defunct Sturgeon Falls jail, where he was told by a jail guard in the now defunct West Nipissing Police Service, that his home had been sold in a tax sale.

The Tax Court of Canada has informed Lorence Hud that they will hear his Appeal on October 24, 2023, which means that his Charter Rights Case is now a Federal Case, virtually guaranteeing that the whole world will soon learn about the illegal and violent seizure of Lorence Hud's property, being his home and contents, including his tax records, on July 18, 2017.
The Tax Court of Canada agreed to hear Lorence Hud's Appeal because the Court Record filed by the Supreme Court of Canada proves that Lorence Hud does not now, nor did he ever, owe any tax of any kind whatsoever.

Dear Tax Court of Canada,
Approximately ten (10) years ago, the CRA sent me an ultimatum to pay income taxes that I did not owe.
In addition, the CRA letter ordered me to pay the false claim on or before a due date that had already expired.
I immediately replied to the CRA ultimatum and stated the fact that the due date had already expired, but I did not receive any reply from the CRA.
After not replying to my letter, the CRA seized funds from one of my bank accounts.
I then sent another letter to the CRA and again received no reply.
On July 18, 2017, the Government illegally and violently seized all of my property (being my home and contents), including my tax records.
On July 15, 2019, the false charges were withdrawn in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, but the Government still has not returned my property (being my home and contents) to me.
My tax records prove that I have allowable Deductions for Depreciation extending well into the year 2027, and it is plain and obvious that I cannot file a tax return without my tax records, which were seized by the Government on July 18, 2017, along with my home and contents.
Therefore, I filed a Notice of Objection since I do not owe any tax, after which the CRA again seized funds from another one of my bank accounts, even though I still did not receive a Decision from the Appeals Division in regard to my Notice of Objection, GB 2221 4160 4421.
As a result of the unlawful taxation by the CRA, I am now hereby filing my Notice of Appeal to the Tax Court of Canada under the Income Tax Act.
The CRA sent Lorence Hud the ultimatum referred to in the first line of the above Notice of Appeal to the Tax Court of Canada, (now in the Federal Court of Appeal ) shortly after the Member of Parliament for Nickel Belt sent a letter to the Prime Minister of Canada on behalf of Lorence Hud, which is Public Record in the Court Record filed by the Supreme Court of Canada, a copy of which is published below for your convenience.
As you can see in the letter from the Member of Parliament to the Prime Minister of Canada, the Nickel Belt Member of Parliament made an Official Parliamentary Request on behalf of Lorence Hud, to meet with the Prime Minister to discuss the illegal bills from the illegal secret drain tax court.
In February of 2017, Lorence Hud went to Parliament Hill, where he met with the PMO, who stated that they would give Lorence Hud the Date and Time of his meeting with Prime Minister Trudeau "soon" but they never did.
On July 18, 2017, the Crown Police illegally and violently seized Lorence Hud's property, being his home and contents, including his Tax Records.
The Crown weaponized His Majesty the King's Tax Collection Agency, the CRA, against Lorence Hud shortly after the Member of Parliament for Nickel Belt made his Official Parliamentary Request for Lorence Hud to meet with the Prime Minister of Canada, and the harassment of Lorence Hud by His Majesty the King's Crown Tax Collection Agency, the CRA, is still on going, which means that since the Tax Court of Canada is mandated by the Constitution and the Income Tax Act to protect members of the Public from the Government, the Tax Court of Canada is obligated to Order His Majesty the King to return Lorence Hud's property, being his home and contents, to Lorence Hud, pursuant to his Notice of Appeal under the Income Tax Act.
The above Notice of Appeal to the Tax Court of Canada makes it abundantly clear; that before Lorence Hud can file a tax return, His Majesty the King must return Lorence Hud's property, being his home and contents, to Lorence Hud, since the Court Record filed by the Supreme Court of Canada indisputably proves that Lorence Hud's home and contents were illegally and violently seized by the Crown on July 18, 2017.

At the above May 26, 2020, Hearing, the Crown's Application was withdrawn by Her Majesty the Queen (now His Majesty the King), and the Court was adjourned to set a date for Lorence Hud's Charter/Costs Application.
After many adjournments, ostensibly because of COVID, on June 3, 2021, THE COURT set the date of November 22, 2021, to hear the Charter/Costs Application requested by COUNSEL FOR LORENCE HUD on May 26, 2020. The next Hearing of Lorence Hud's Charter Rights Case was held in the Tax Court of Canada on October 24, 2023, and is now headed for the Federal Court of Appeal.
When other musicians went to do drugs, Lorence Hud went target shooting and we should not have to tell you that was a smart decision, so we asked Lorence how he managed to ignore his peers and make that very intelligent choice. It turns out that clever choice was made for him before he became a professional musician, by an authority far higher than his peers, as Lorence explains:
"When I was eight years old jazz legend Gordie Brandt told me, 'You will be going out there Lorence. Just remember one thing; ALL DRUGS ARE GARBAGE!' and Gordie was my idol. Gordie Brandt was the greatest guitar player that I have ever seen, so what my peers said meant nothing to me.".
People have commented that the picture on the MINI-ALBUM's rear cover doesn't look like Lorence and is so dark it makes him look black. Ironically, when he lived in the Cayman Islands, he spent so much time on the beach, his tan made him look much darker than that, so people thought he was born there, especially tourists who didn't know he's Canadian by birth.
And many islanders saw him in the same light. Lorence still remembers when a Jamaican electrician who became a close friend told Lorence, "When I saw you walking around George Town, before I met you, I naturally assumed you were born in the Caribbean.". He then deadpanned, "So I was of course shocked and deeply dismayed to find out that you were born in Canada!".

The picture is the main gate at A&M Records in Hollywood, where Lorence entered in amazement just to be on the Lot, and almost fell over when Chuck Kaye, who started both Rondor Music and Almo/Irving Music, stepped out of his office, walked over to Lorence and said, "I wanted to shake your hand. I always enjoy meeting very talented people.".
One day when Lorence walked out of the studio he saw two gentlemen down the hallway having a discussion, one of whom was wearing a beautiful purple suit that would make Gucci green with envy, and Lorence tells us that was a day at A&M's Hollywood studios that he will never forget, as Lorence explains, "Their backs were turned toward me and as I approached they heard my footsteps. The gentleman in the impeccable purple suit very graciously and kindly turned to let me pass by and when he turned around I realized that the gentleman standing RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME was none other than Herb Alpert. I wanted to tell him, 'You play the sweetest horn that I have ever heard' but I was too star-struck to speak. And it wasn't just the celebrity of the international star Herb Alpert that left me tongue-tied, it was his musicianship; because when I was standing there with Herb Alpert I knew that I was standing in the presence of a jazz genius and I was just a poor prairie boy who was blessed to be recording in Herb Alpert's spectacular Hollywood studios by the grace of Christ, so I meekly smiled and went my way, without saying a word".
In 1973 Lorence Hud attended the BMI Awards, where he was presented with a BMI CERTIFICATE OF HONOUR for "Sign of the Gypsy Queen". BMI administered performance rights for songwriters and many other hit songwriters also attended the popular gala BMI Awards show, which was held in Toronto.

The artwork and design for Lorence Hud's first album was created by Christianne, an incredibly talented artist who has painted portraits of many musical artists, including Paul and Linda McCartney. She never asked Lorence to pose and only met with him a few times before she presented the painting to A&M Records. Christianne's painting of Lorence Hud was chosen for the cover of his first album by A&M's art department, and that image has become synonymous with Lorence Hud everywhere on the world wide web.
Christianne created the painting in her Toronto studio in 1972. The Gold Cross was added many years later, in commemoration of Jesus Christ Blessing Lorence with his life changing Damascus Road Experience, when he was living in the Cayman Islands.
It is Public Record that Lorence Hud's recording of "Sign Of The Gypsy Queen" on A&M Records was a hit in Canada. Top 40 radio stations began playing it from the album before it was even released as a single. With a solid rock beat, the 1972 release of "Sign of the Gypsy Queen" got a lot of airplay all across the country, from coast to coast. It was in the top 40 on the west coast for nine weeks on Vancouver's CKLG, peak position #9, reaching #3 on the east coast on CJRW in Summerside Prince Edward Island, #8 in the Canadian heartland on CFRN in Edmonton, #9 on CKCK in Regina and #16 nationally on the Canadian Hot 100. Even without all of his other recordings and touring, that fact alone makes the recording artist Lorence Hud an integral part of Canadian Musical History and Canada's cultural music heritage, which has without doubt played no small part in requests for factual information about his music and life.
In 2020, Lorence was approached by Canadian Bands Website Creator Dan Brisebois, a true journalist and Canadian Music Patriot, who saw the glaring omissions, misinformation and outright disinformation in negatively biased articles written by media hacks gleefully masquerading as "journalists", who do a disservice to their readers and futilely labour under a blatant, irrational and pathetically puerile aversion to publishing complete, professional and unbiased, factual information about the music and life of Lorence Hud.
No self-respecting journalist would omit the salient facts that Her Majesty the Queen, now His Majesty the King/Crown withdrew the false charges against the artist, Lorence Hud, who does not and never did owe any tax, and the matter, still before the courts, is of obvious public importance to everyone living in Canada, especially anyone who has a home in Ontario.
Right now, with no taxes owing, the government can sell anyone's home without personal service, even when State Agents KNOW that the owner did NOT receive Notice.
To set the record straight, Dan contacted Lorence directly through his Facebook account and told Lorence that he wanted to publish the facts, which led to an excellent article in Canadian Bands.com. Unfortunately, Dan passed away in 2020 and that excellent article that he wrote about Lorence Hud has since vanished, along with the journalistic integrity of the late great Dan Brisebois, who was valiantly trying to save Canadian Musical History from being deleted and thereby erased from Canada's cultural legacy and musical heritage.
To say Dan will be missed is an understatement. Without Dan Brisebois, Canadian news outlets may never recover from their amateurish descent into gossip driven maladroit journalism.
As a tribute to Canadian Bands Website Creator Dan Brisebois, we have saved a few screen shots of the excellent article that he wrote about Lorence Hud, in order to preserve the important work that Dan did as an investigative journalist, before his untimely passing in 2020.

Any songwriter will tell you that the greatest compliment you can give them is to record one of their songs and Lorence Hud has humbly received that compliment from many up and coming, still unknown artists, as well as from established professionals, including Glenn Yarbrough (one of the founding members of the Limelighters) who, as a solo artist, recorded "Fools Make Dreams Come True", country star Wayne Rostad, who recorded "Summer Rose", as well as the many rock bands who have recorded "Sign Of The Gypsy Queen", such as Frost/Jack Frost (2005), Burning Sunday (2018), April Wine (1981) and Kobra and the Lotus (2015). After his first album, on which he sang all the vocals and played all of the instruments, Lorence wanted to assemble a group for the next album and, after discussions with the good folks at A&M Records, they made arrangements that led to an assembly so talented that they exceeded his wildest dreams, since that assembly was made up of the A-String session players and singers on Music Row in Nashville, who were quite literally the best in the world. So how did A&M Records manage to bring together an assembly like that for a poor Canadian prairie boy? First of all, they succeeded to reach the agent for one of the original founding members of the legendary Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, a musical genius who many would argue is the best session bass player of all time and had become a groundbreaking record producer, with his offices and studio situated right in the heart of Music Row. Then came the hard part. How do you convince an internationally successful guy like that to produce a Canadian prairie kid like Lorence Hud? As it turns out, all they had to do was let him hear the first album, after which he agreed to produce the project. The name of that producer, who has appeared on more than 6,000 recordings, is Norbert Putnam. Elvis called him "Putt". Norbert Putnam was used to working with the best and he called on the best for the Lorence Hud album, including The Holladay Sisters (Ginger and Mary with Jeannie Greene), The Jordanaires, The Memphis Horns, Weldon Myrick, Farrell Morris, Bobby Wood, Larry London, Kenny Malone and the legendary session musicians seen pictured with Lorence Hud in the photo below, which was taken in front of Quadraphonic Studios on Music Row in Nashville.
The most amazing part of it all to Lorence, is that he was treated as an equal by all of those incredibly talented people, each of whom was so warm and friendly that their gracious southern hospitality made him feel as though he was working with dear old friends, and that is how he will always remember them.
We would be remiss if we neglected to give you a bit of background on the musical prowess of the Nashville Cats in the photograph taken in front of Quadraphonic Studios on Music Row. (The album was recorded in Memphis and Nashville.) Norbert told Lorence that he became a producer when Kris Kristofferson asked him to produce Joan Baez, who had asked Kris to produce her next album. That pairing of Norbert Putnam with Joan Baez resulted in the hugely successful recording of "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down". It was so successful that Clive Davis flew Norbert up to New York to congratulate him on producing a record that sold so many copies of a folk artist. Norbert told Lorence that when he said to Clive, "Maybe I just got lucky. It was my first production", Clive moved in close and said, "No, you KNOW something", which made Lorence laugh and thank God that he had been blessed with a record producer who had a great sense of humour. And it was always like that, so for Lorence, it was as if he was being produced by a very funny high school friend, rather than a global hit maker when he was working with Norbert Putnam, who has produced a long list of hits including Margaritaville for Jimmy Buffet.
Mike Leech, who is seated in the center of the picture, with his bass in its soft case, played on hundreds of hit records, including Elvis Presley's "Suspicious Minds", Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline", Willie Nelson's, "Always On My Mind", and Dobie Gray's "Drift Away". On a side note, Dobie Gray taught Lorence to stay away from hot and we mean HOT food one night in Los Angeles, when Dobie invited Tom Jans, Will Jennings and his wife Carol to try out some HOT Mexican food. Will called Lorence and told him what Dobie was up to and asked Lorence if he would like to join them and, like a fool, Lorence said yes. Suffice it to say, Lorence made it clear to one and all that he would NEVER do that again! Back to Mike Leech, who rose to fame as the bass player in "The Memphis Boys", a collection of studio professionals who were the "house band" in American Sound Studio in 1967-72, where Leech played on 122 top-10 hit pop records, from Presley to B.J. Thomas, from Dionne Warwick to the Box Tops, as well as on the renowned Dusty Springfield LP Dusty in Memphis. He then moved to Nashville where he became an "A-Team" session musician on Music Row. His work can be heard on the records of more than a dozen members of the Country Music Hall of Fame. He was in demand for jazz records by Herbie Mann and Al Hirt, among others. His rock and roll credits include sessions with Eric Clapton, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Roy Orbison.
Shane Keister, who is seated right behind Mike Leech in the picture, began playing piano when he was three years old and went on to become an accomplished classical pianist. From there he branched out into many other musical styles and genres. He has worked hand in hand with legends of the recording industry, ranging from Elvis Presley and Paul McCartney to Arif Mardin and Ahmet Ertegen. In 1972, Shane was in such demand as a pianist/session keyboardist from his work in Dallas and Memphis that he moved to Nashville and was called by Norbert Putnam to play on the Lorence Hud album. He is an extremely versatile studio musician and has produced and played on countless albums with the finest performers, including Celine Dion, Paul McCartney, Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, Olivia Newton John, Roberta Flack, Dianne Schuur, Lionel Ritchie, Billy Joel, Tom Jones and many more.
Johnny Christopher, who co-wrote "Always On My Mind" with Mark James and Wayne Carson, is pictured standing on the right side of the photo. His recording credits on guitar include sessions with Elvis Presley, B.J. Thomas, Waylon Jennings, Burt Reynolds, Kris Kristofferson, Ronnie Milsap, John Prine, Jackie DeShannon and Petula Clark. On a side note, during a break while recording with Lorence Hud, Johnny asked Lorence, "How did you come up with that lick for Madame La Rue?". Lorence was not quite sure but he knew he had been listening to old rhythm and blues records and probably got it from there, so he told Johnny, "Its just an old rhythm and blues lick" and Reggie Young, who had recorded many R&B hits, seemed to agree. The song Madame La Rue actually came from a book. How it happened is that Lorence had a subscription, which each month sent him a book about different Great Museums of the World, and one of those books detailed the life and work of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. After he saw the "At the Moulin Rouge" paintings, Madame La Rue suddenly appeared, like a photograph. Lorence ran to his guitar, turned on his tape recorder and started playing. That R&B lick came out and Lorence just followed the photograph. When Lorence played it back, he couldn't believe it. There was this song, from out of nowhere that was basically written by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and the rhythm and blues artists Lorence loved listening to, about Toulouse-Lautrec's Paris and a life-style Lorence knew nothing about. www.youtube.com/watch?v=iS-EPPliDpQ It reminds us of "I Shot the Sheriff", which was written by Bob Marley and was a big hit when Eric Clapton sang it, but neither one of them shot the sheriff.
Kenny Buttrey, seated next to Lorence who is seated on the right side of the picture, became a professional musician at age 11, went on his first world tour with Chet Atkins at the age of 14 and was one of the most influential session musicians in Nashville history. He was also a super great guy and went out of his way to make Lorence feel at home in Nashville. After one of the sessions, Kenny asked Lorence if he wanted to go out for a drink, and it turned into a fantastic night that Lorence will never forget. Kenny had a heart of gold. It is the kick and snare lick of Kenny Buttrey that made Neil Young's "Heart of Gold" a hit. Lorence could not believe that he was out on the town in Nashville with the guy who laid down the perfect drum track for Bob Dylan's "Lay Lady Lay". Kenny's drum track on "Madame LaRue" was sheer genius. Lorence tried to find other drummers who could do the same but none of them could play it. One of those drummers told Lorence, "You will not find anybody who can do what Kenny Buttrey did on Madame LaRue, so forget it.". And for Kenny it all just came naturally; no warmup, no rehearsal, no questions, just play him the song and he played the perfect drum track, with technical brilliance and taste second to none. Kenny opened up his heart of gold on that amazing Nashville night. Lorence learned how Kenny's appearance on Elvis Presley's "He Touched Me"... touched Kenny Buttrey. It was a spiritually uplifting night in the heart of Nashville, to the glory of God in the name of Jesus Christ, who Lorence testifies is the Word is God; The Father, The Word and The Holy Spirit, These Three Are ONE. And musically, for Lorence it was the thrill of a lifetime to hear the inside story, right from the man himself, on his drumming, touring and legendary session work, which includes Bob Dylan's Blonde on Blonde, Nashville Skyline, John Wesley Harding and Self Portrait, Neil Young's Harvest, Tonight's the Night, Harvest Moon and Tuscaloosa, as well as countless other sessions Kenny Buttrey made great for a wide array of artists, including Bob Seger, Joan Baez, Jimmy Buffet, J.J. Cale, Donovan, Mickey Newbury and more.
Reggie Young, seated second from the left, next to Norbert Putnam in the photo, was at the top of the list of guitar players' guitar players. Eric Clapton said Reggie Young was the greatest guitar player that he had ever heard and Eric was right. To hit the harmonic just right and make it sing usually takes a guitar player a couple or more attempts before it is correctly picked and muted at the same time, which is necessary to create the harmonic. Lorence never saw a guitar player do it on the first try, on any note, with absolute perfection, until he saw Reggie Young do it at Quadraphonic. So, when it came time for Reggie to add the guitar solo in the middle of "Sweet Janie Malone", Lorence said a silent prayer. And when Reggie raised his arm signaling the engineer to roll the tape, it was as if Reggie said, "Here you are Lorence" because Reggie made that Telecaster sing so sweetly that it took the breath away from everyone in the control room. Reggie then tied it all together with his solo and left the end open for Lorence to add the closing guitar licks. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mlv54omDMak Needless to say, a poor Canadian prairie boy like Lorence, who was trying to learn how to make a record, hung on every word that Reggie Young spoke. So Lorence was absolutely stunned one day when he was sitting in the back seat, as Reggie was behind the wheel and taking some of the guys out for lunch. Lorence told them that he felt strange singing "Cortelia Clark" www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTByw77xxXY because Mickey Newbury did such a great job. Reggie then said, "Yea but you did a great job too.". WOW! Lorence was too stunned to speak. Reggie Young played guitar on hundreds of hit recordings spanning a career of more than six decades. He can be heard on an estimated 150 top 40 hits, including Dusty Springfield's "Son of a Preacher Man", Elvis Presley's "Suspicious Minds" and Dobie Gray's "Drift Away", which was recorded at Quadraphonic.
David Briggs is standing at the far left in the photo in front of Quadraphonic. Leon Russell greatly admired the keyboard genius of David Briggs, who did not like the attention, as David explained to Lorence, "You work for 30 years to develop a style that is uniquely David Briggs and then Leon Russell watches you play for 15 minutes and he's got you, he plays David Briggs better than David Briggs." But Lorence knew that Leon was just showing his love for David's playing and there will never be another David Briggs. Because of David's phenomenal keyboard playing, Lorence was nervous when Norbert asked Lorence to play "Honesty Is My Trouble" for David, so he could write the piano part. Lorence played it and was amazed when David said, "I think Lorence should play the piano because he has an unorthodox style". Then Norbert said, "His left hand will interfere with the bass". Lorence then changed the left hand part to straight octaves to stay out of the way of the bass. And that is how Lorence ended up playing the Steinway grand piano on "Honesty Is My Trouble" with the foremost session piano player in the world, David Briggs, sitting across from Lorence playing ingenious counterpoint on the Wurlitzer, as only David Briggs could do. www.youtube.com/watch?v=aM4g4fNT2r0 Lorence tells us that sharing keyboard licks with David Briggs was one of the highlights of his musical career. David Briggs, along with Norbert Putnam, was one of the founding members of the legendary Muscle Shoals rhythm section. They moved to Nashville, continuing to play sessions on a very long list of hit records and opened Quadraphonic Sound Studio on Music Row along with their publishing house, Danor Music, which is where Lorence Hud met a then unknown Texas songwriter by the name of Will Jennings. Much of the time Lorence spent with Will was more like hanging out than writing. Nashville has a vibrant nightlife, and they went to a restaurant one evening that had fabulous chocolate cake, so Lorence told Norbert and they went back the next night. Unfortunately, the cake was no longer fresh, so it was a disappointment, but they made up for it with an extra helping of their marvelous black-eyed peas. Lorence never heard of black-eyed peas before he met Will Jennings who taught Lorence to love southern cuisine. One day Will walked into Danor with what Lorence thought was a great idea and they started to work on it. While they were writing, Will started singing the chorus and the sound of Will's voice singing those words made Lorence feel like he really wanted to record that song. When they finished writing it Lorence said, "Do you think Norbert will let us put it on the album?". Will just smiled and said, "He better!" The song, which was really Will's idea, made it onto the album. The title is "The Song that Annie Sings". www.youtube.com/watch?v=zT84VPzsPlo Will Jennings wrote many great songs, including, "Tears In Heaven", with Eric Clapton and "Higher Love", with Steve Winwood, which is Lorence's favourite Will Jennings song because it reminds Lorence of the great times he had with Will and his wife Carole, a couple of real sweethearts, who Lorence always felt had a higher love. Will also co-wrote the theme for the Titanic, "My Heart Will Go On", with James Horner. Lorence still remembers, like it was yesterday, when they were writing in Danor's publishing house on Music Row in Nashville and Will said, "If we can write just one that they remember Lorence, we've done our job.".

Lorence was introduced to the pragmatic side of music when he was eight years old. That's when jazz legend Gordie Brandt took him under his wing in Saskatoon. Gordie taught Lorence the importance of discipline and theory, placing a heavy emphasis on the Gregorian modes, as well as the additional modes that were added in 1547 by Heinrich Glarean, also styled Glareanus, in his excellent book on music theory, Dodecachordon. He proposed that there were actually twelve modes, instead of just eight, and that the Ionian mode was the one most frequently used by composers in his day. Most of the changes involved the modes that included a flattened 'B' and signified the move into 'major' and 'minor' keys. Gordie was a musical genius, so everyone listened to what he said and, once he recommended Lorence, that was it - the phone didn't stop ringing, which made Lorence a happy little boy, playing with all the top bands in the area, including big bands, sitting reading charts. And as great as that was, Gordie's most important recommendation came many years later and involved the dean of the Music Department at the University of Saskatchewan. The university's dean of music became involved because Lorence wanted to major in music and the University's Faculty of Music required a reference from someone with musical credentials acceptable to the dean of the Music Department. Fortunately for Lorence, Gordie was highly respected by the Faculty of Music and was happy to give them that recommendation, so Lorence became a music major at that very fine institution. When he was no longer required to attend recording sessions at Sound City in Los Angeles, he seized upon the opportunity to return to the hallowed halls of learning, this time at the University of Toronto.
Lorence liked everything about the University of Toronto's St. George campus. He greatly admired his professors, who were always a source of inspiration, and was really quite immersed in that studious lifestyle, until one pivotal day the phone rang in his High Park home. When he answered he heard the very excited voice of his dear old friend, Gerry Lacoursiere, who exclaimed, "It's number 57 with a bullet on Billboard! [April Wine's version of "Sign Of The Gypsy Queen"] Can you bring us some new material?". The familiar sound of Gerry's amiable, enthusiastic voice brought it all back and the U of T began fading into the rear-view mirror.
Lorence remembered all the nice people he met during those momentous days at A&M Records, the great times he had performing at Massey Hall and the Riverboat in Toronto, Place des Arts in Montreal, the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium, the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, the unforgettable coast to coast tours and all the great artists and writers he appeared with on television shows, including the Ian Tyson Show with Milton Berle, the Elwood Glover Show with Sammy Cahn, the Cliff Edwards Show with Ronney Abramson and the Tommy Banks Show with Lenny Breau, Fred Willard, Bill Saluga and the Ace Trucking Company.

No one could motivate Lorence Hud like Gerry Lacoursiere, who was without a doubt the greatest Record Man that Canada ever produced and suddenly, just like that, Lorence was being pulled away from U of T academia and back into "the business".
Gerry's musical instincts were legendary and everyone trusted his judgment.
The first Lorence Hud album was mixed in Hollywood, California but it was recorded in Toronto, Ontario and the reason it was recorded in Canada is, in a word, Gerry.
As Gerry explained to Lorence after the decision was made, "They wanted you to record the album in Hollywood but I told them it might lose the spark, so they said, 'O. K., but we want Lorence to come down here and mix the album in our L. A. studios' and I thought that was a good idea.".
When Gerry called to ask Lorence for new material, neither one of them knew that material would be chosen to be included in a soundtrack for a movie starring one of Gerry's favourite actors. Gerry always enjoyed the Dean Martin Show and, as much as he liked Dean Martin, it was Dean's loveable and somewhat tipsy sidekick that got the biggest laughs from Gerry.
The new material that Gerry asked Lorence to submit to A&M Records, led to the Lorence Hud 4 Song Mini-Album - rateyourmusic.com/release/ep/lorence_hud/lorence_hud/ - and two of the tracks from that album were chosen to be included in the soundtrack for the Foster Brooks movie. It's a Meatballs style comedy with a PG rating and, as the title suggests, "Oddballs" was a perfect vehicle for Foster Brooks, as "Meatballs" was for Bill Murray. Quality Records told Lorence, "We sent them a ton of stuff for the Roger Corman produced film "Oddballs", most of which they did not use, but they chose two of your songs and they want to use your songs in their soundtrack!". Lorence of course agreed, since it was starring Foster Brooks.

The supreme irony of it all, is that what started out with Gerry Lacoursiere asking Lorence to submit new material to A&M Records, led to that material being included in a soundtrack for a Foster Brooks movie, which led to Lorence being invited, by overseas Government Authorities, to apply for highly sought and rarely granted Permanent Residence, in a British Overseas Territory where that movie and Lorence's songs were extremely popular with the indigenous population and expatriates as well. And so it was that Lorence Hud was granted Permanent Resident Status in the Cayman Islands, among the beautiful islanders and ubiquitous palm trees, where he built his island recording studio, with a combination of sequencers, signal processors, digital recorders, synthesizers, analog tape machines and a wide array of acoustic and electric instruments, including, of course, guitars; all of which arrived by sea during hurricane season in perfect condition at the George Town port on Grand Cayman, after crossing the ocean from Miami with his flagship, 1957 Original Vintage Fender Stratocaster, leading the way. The dockworkers did not have a key to the container, so Lorence went down to the Container Yard at the Dock to open up the container. Cayman Islands Customs and Border Control then went through the lengthy process of examining the contents to clear the container for entry into the Cayman Islands. Everyone at the Port Authority of the Cayman Islands was super friendly. At a distance there was a forklift operator who began waving his arms and, with a big grin on his face, yelled at Lorence, "Beatle? - Beatle?". Lorence just smiled and waved back. The Cayman Islands Customs Agent who was in charge of filing the Customs Documents started laughing and told Lorence that a few of the Beatles were regular visitors.
They say that moving overseas "frees the artist" and moving overseas to make his home and build his recording studio in the Cayman Islands, where he joyfully lived his West Indies Island life for almost twenty years, was definitely a HUGE success for the artist, Lorence Hud, to put it mildly. People were always coming to see Lorence at his studio. If he was not there, they would leave notes asking him to call them. And Lorence was always happy when he returned from his daily walk on Seven Mile Beach to find someone waiting at the studio door for his return, which was not uncommon. The Foster Brooks movie and Lorence's songs were hot on the island and the two Lorence Hud songs that were included in the soundtrack for the movie are, "Don't Touch that Dial" and "Here's To You". Lorence tells us that he is extremely grateful to Foster Brooks because Foster's movie facilitated moving abroad and Lorence met so many wonderful people overseas, while living in the sun-drenched Cayman Islands, when "Beloved Isles Cayman" were still "The Islands Time Forgot". So Foster, "Here's To You"!
Arriving in the Cayman Islands today is nothing like it was when Lorence first disembarked at the airport almost 40 years ago, at a time when the first modern terminal was still under construction and the old airport terminal consisted of a small, deteriorating wooden building abutting the sizzling tarmac, with no air-conditioning. Upon entering the building, the scene resembled something straight out of Casablanca, complete with the ceiling's low hanging, slowly turning, white paddle fans. The hotspot in the terminal was a very busy and crowded lounge/restaurant that was filled with multinational smoking patrons. At the far end of the bar there was a dimly lit table, where a man wearing a white suit and black bow tie was sitting with a very elegant, well-dressed lady, and they were having a serious discussion with one of the airport authorities. Through the dim lighting and thick smoke, the refined looking couple could almost have been mistaken for Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. The intrigue at the airport made Lorence anxious to get out and explore this undiscovered gem and he was not disappointed, as he explains, " I could not believe I had found a place filled with such an abundance of unspoiled natural serenity and beautiful, gentle people. The Creator's Glory was on stunning display in the pristine landscapes I beheld and kindhearted people I met, everywhere I went, and I soon fell in love with the place.", and who could blame him?! Back then "Beloved Isles Cayman" were aptly described as "The Islands Time Forgot". Lorence knew it was definitely the right move and gleefully returned to finalize the arrangements in Canada, where he was met with a resounding, adamant and unanimous chorus of, "You're moving WHERE ???!!!".
When he returned to Grand Cayman to make his home on the island, Lorence was elated to be back on what was then an unspoiled and sparsely populated island paradise: as Lorence recounts, "I was very happy with the fact that the Cayman Islands were 'The Islands Time Forgot'. In those days I used to walk on Seven Mile Beach every day and on almost all of those walks I was amazed to see the Creator's Glory in all of its unspoiled splendour, with no one on the beach except for me and the sand crabs, who generously shared the beach with me and had the beach all to themselves before I arrived and after I left. The hospitality of the sand crabs on the beach was matched by the sea urchins in the ocean. Even the jellyfish kept their distance. Over the years I heard many reports of swimmers being stung by jellyfish and often heard the sirens of speeding ambulances on West Bay Road, as divers suffering from potentially lethal DCS were being rushed to the Decompression Chamber in George Town; so I am extremely grateful that during all my time living in the Cayman Islands, I never experienced the sting of a jellyfish or the need for hyperbaric oxygen therapy while I was swimming and diving in the gorgeous, crystal-clear turquoise, aquamarine and deep blue waters that surround the beautiful Cayman Islands. Seven Mile Beach has been ranked as the most beautiful beach in the world and I was greatly blessed to have lived there when 'Beloved Isles Cayman' were still the 'Islands Time Forgot', at the absolute peak of the pristine, unspoiled natural beauty of Seven Mile Beach. And when he returned to settle in on Grand Cayman he was pleasantly surprised to see, that even with all the unspoiled, natural beauty on Seven Mile Beach (now gone), the brand-new state of the art Owen Roberts International Airport Terminal, complete with a finely crafted A-frame and thatch-roof outdoor waving gallery (long since closed), was fully operational. Many warm welcomes and bittersweet goodbyes were shared by one and all on the outdoor waving gallery. And with Cayman Airways' Sir Turtle Club and famous Rum Punch, Sir Turtle Club members like Lorence had many happy times, with friends and strangers alike, flying from Owen Roberts International Airport to Miami and connecting onward to wherever they wished, which made the Greater Antilles Island even more attractive, with easier access and without losing its unique, unspoiled West Indies charm.
But even with all the unique, unspoiled natural beauty (at that time), Lorence admits, "When I lived on Grand Cayman, I also witnessed the unbelievably destructive power of nature in all its unstoppable fury. I will never forget Hurricane Gilbert which, after it crossed Jamaica went through a remarkable intensification period, with the pressure falling in 24 hours from 960 mb (28.35 inches) to 888 mb (26.22 inches), which is the lowest sea level pressure ever recorded in the Western Hemisphere. I had a prior commitment to fly off the island and meet with a publisher on the mainland. As I was waiting for my flight to board, a voice came on the airport's loudspeakers and announced that the winds had picked up and it was too dangerous to land, so the plane that I was supposed to be on was forced to turn back to Miami. I was loaded onto a bus with a group of tourists, and I recognized the driver who said, 'Where do you want to go?'. I knew that they had just finished construction of the new fire hall and it was supposed to be hurricane-proof, so I told him, 'To the fire hall.'. At that point the tourists on the bus, who had become quite anxious, heard what I said to the bus driver, and I guess they thought, 'This guy KNOWS something.', so they all started yelling, 'TO THE FIRE HALL !!! - TO THE FIRE HALL !!!' The bus driver put the proverbial pedal to the metal but when we arrived at the fire hall it was already packed with islanders and tourists who were seeking shelter from the hurricane. Nevertheless, just in the nick of time we got into the fire hall, only moments before they started turning people away and locked the doors. Walking through the fire hall, I could see that the tourists were not as well prepared as the islanders, who offered me fine Caymanian cuisine, which was delicious. Some people were playing their favourite songs to calm their nerves. Ironically, someone was playing 'Sign of the Gypsy Queen' off in the distance, somewhere on the leeward side of the building at the other end of the fire hall, but I did not try to find them and introduce myself because I had been up since before dawn and was exhausted. During the night I guess I looked very tired because a couple of very young Caymanian girls, about 5 or 6 years old, who were going to sleep on a blanket on the fire hall floor, looked up at me and said, 'Would you like part of our blanket?' and I knew Jesus Did That, so I got some sleep in the middle of that packed fire hall, on that little blanket with those little angels. During the hurricane the gorgeous blue skies and blazing Caribbean sun were totally blotted out and, as I looked out from the garage of the George Town fire hall, at the grey foreboding darkness, the shrieking sound of Gilbert's Category 5 hurricane winds made me wonder, 'What am I doing here?'. It wasn't until years later, long after the wild ride with Hurricane Gilbert, that I learned why God called me to move to the Cayman Islands.".
Fortunately, there were no hurricanes in sight during his move to the Cayman Islands, so it was smooth sailing when, with a container filled with recording equipment and musical instruments following by ship, Lorence Hud landed at Owen Roberts International Airport with a Government of the Cayman Islands Visa, which allowed him to enter and live in the Cayman Islands. The Caymanian Protection Board had the exclusive power to grant Permanent Resident Status to Lorence Hud under Caymanian Protection Law, and Mr. John Bostock MBE, who was the architect of some of the most enduring immigration laws in that country, was the Chief Immigration Officer. Lorence met with Mr. Bostock and liked him instantly. John Bostock was a very friendly professional who explained what the Caymanian Protection Board required before they would grant Permanent Residence to anyone and then he smiled and said, "Sell them Lorence!". Fortunately, Foster's movie was very popular on the island at that time, especially with parents who wished to share something with their kids. It was good news when a group of those parents, who were friends with members of the Caymanian Protection Board, very kindly and enthusiastically told Lorence, "We were enjoying a Foster Brooks movie with our kids last night and saw your name plastered all over the screen, way out here in the Caribbean sea!".
Lorence appreciated their kind words and said, "Thanks be to God. Jesus Did That. He hath founded it upon the seas.".
The Cayman Islands' beautiful coat of arms splendidly celebrates the proud Christian heritage of "Beloved Isles Cayman" and the Christ-Centered Caymanian people, with the islands' spiritually uplifting motto from the first book of the Book of Psalms, King James Bible, which is Psalm 24:2; HE HATH FOUNDED IT UPON THE SEAS.
A short time after those marvelous parents enjoyed watching the Foster Brooks movie with their kids and then shared their experience with Lorence, the Caymanian Protection Board released their decision, which changed his life forever; and Lorence Hud officially became a Permanent Resident of the Cayman Islands, domiciled on the West Indies Greater Antilles island home of the Grand Cayman Blue Iguana.
The handsome and debonair Grand Cayman Blue Iguana in the photograph is not the only Caymanian who is protected in "Beloved Isles Cayman". Caymanian Protection Law protects all Caymanians, and rightfully so. The Caymanian Protection Board strictly enforces all of the Rules, Regulations and Guidelines of Caymanian Protection Law, in addition to Cayman Islands Immigration Laws, some of the most enduring of which were written by Mr. John Bostock MBE, who was very helpful to Lorence in his Application to the Caymanian Protection Board, which led to Lorence being granted Permanent Resident Status in the Cayman Islands.
The Cayman Islands is a self-governing British Overseas Territory and, given the high level of scrutiny and thorough vetting required, Lorence Hud feels greatly honoured and humbled to have been granted Permanent Resident Status, especially since he learned that it was a unanimous decision that the Caymanian Protection Board as a whole, as well as every member of the Board individually, approved with overwhelming support for Lorence, who told us, "God blessed me to move to the Cayman Islands and I will always have a special place in my heart for 'Beloved Isles Cayman' and the extremely kind, gracious, God fearing Caymanian people, who are true followers of Jesus Christ; and that is how I will always remember them.".
The Canadian High Commission to the Cayman Islands was very helpful in providing Lorence with an understanding of the unique Caymanian culture and customs and, given the strict immigration laws, registration with the Canadian High Commission was a necessity for maintaining Permanent Resident Status in the Cayman Islands, since living in the islands is totally different than taking a vacation there. On his very first visit to Grand Cayman almost 40 years ago, Lorence knew that living in the Cayman Islands would be unlike anything that he had ever experienced while living in North America; and that was something that he had to seriously consider before he ultimately decided to move overseas, and begin a whole new life on the distant shores of what was then an undiscovered, and very remote Caribbean island, thousands of miles away from the land of his birth. As it turns out, Lorence had irresistible help in making that decision, as he explains, "I had a very strong feeling that I was destined to move to the Cayman Islands and I knew from previous experience, that just like Jonah, I could never ignore the prodding of the Holy Spirit. What I did not know was the enormity of the blessings and spiritual discernment I would receive by heeding the call. I always believed in God and, from Sunday school on up, I searched for someone to explain the Bible to me, but no one could. On the island I learned first-hand that The Holy Spirit is the only one who can generate spiritual discernment and living on a tiny, very remote Christ-Centered Island, was the perfect place for me to receive that spiritual discernment. At that time Grand Cayman could have been described as the Caribbean's answer to Patmos, with the Revelation of Jesus Christ prevailing everywhere".

"Heeding the call to move to the Cayman Islands led to Jesus Blessing me with my Damascus Road Experience and that is when The Holy Spirit opened the Scriptures to me. It was suddenly, in an instant. I began reading and understanding what no human being was ever able to explain to me. I was amazed and so overjoyed that I could not stop reading. For three days and nights I did nothing but read The Word of God, only taking short breaks for food and sleep. It was totally different from what Saul who became Paul experienced. It was a Damascus Road Experience in the Cayman Islands, uniquely my own, a Revelation that no man knows except me who received it. And my Revelation from Jesus Christ on the island of Grand Cayman always reminds me of John on the island of Patmos and Revelation 2:17, 'To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it'. That's The Word of God - Spoken by God - that's The Word I live by. The Gospel that I know is not according to man, for I neither received it of man, nor was I taught it, but by the Revelation of Jesus Christ.".

John received The Word of God - Spoken by God, and wrote the sixty-sixth Book of the Holy Bible, the Book of Revelation, under the divine, supernatural guidance of The Holy Spirit, who is The Seven Fold Spirit of God, in the Cave of the Apocalypse on the island of Patmos.
On the Greek island of Patmos, known internationally as the "Jerusalem of the Aegean Sea" or the "Island of the Apocalypse", The Monastery of St. John is situated at the top of the mountain, right above the village of Chora. As you travel up the mountain road from the port at Skala, the Cave of the Apocalypse, which is within the Monastery of the Apocalypse, is located midway along the road that winds steeply up from the Skala seashore to the breathtaking view from the Divine Island mountaintop and Chora, the capital of Patmos.
THE BOOK OF REVELATION

The Holy Spirit is the Creator Spirit, present before the creation of the universe and through his power everything was made in Jesus Christ, by God the Father.
Called the unveiled epiphany of God, the Holy Spirit is the One who empowers the followers of Jesus with spiritual gifts and power that enables the proclamation of Jesus Christ, and the power that brings conviction of faith.
Except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.

When we asked Lorence to explain why he believes that the Holy Spirit is the only one who can generate spiritual discernment, the limitless bounds of his unshakeable Faith in The Holy Trinity and Resurrection were revealed to us and, with one sentence, he proved to us the indisputable factual basis of his belief, when Lorence testified:
"Man's finite mind will never understand God's Infinite Power because it is impossible for the finite to understand the Infinite.".

Lorence Hud was Divinely Blessed with his Damascus Road Experience and outpouring of the Holy Spirit over a quarter of a century ago, while he was living in the British Overseas Territory that he fondly refers to as "Beloved Isles Cayman" and it is from his personal experience that he testifies:
"This Divine Blessing is too wonderful for the human mind to comprehend because human intellect is finite and cannot even begin to imagine the infinite wisdom that is freely available to the coequal, coeternal, consubstantial divine third person of the Holy Trinity, The Holy Spirit, who is The Spirit of God, forming part of and being sent by the Infinitely Powerful Godhead; The Father, The Word, The Holy Spirit, the Triune God.".
RUBLEV'S TROITSA
(Russian for Triune or Trinity)
The world-famous Trinity Icon painted by Andrei Rublev 600 years ago, hails from the summit of a more-than-thousand-year-old iconographic tradition and is one of history's greatest works of art. The Trinity depicts the three angels who visited Abraham and Sarah at the Oak of Mamre in the heat of the day and promised them a son (Genesis 18:1-8). It is interpreted as an icon of the Holy Trinity.
The left angel symbolizes God The Father, the central angel symbolizes God The Son, and the right angel symbolizes God The Holy Spirit, forming The Holy Trinity.
The Holy Trinity consists of three hypostases: Hypostasis of The Father, Hypostasis of The Son and Hypostasis of The Holy Spirit.
Hypostasis is the underlying state or underlying substance and is the fundamental reality that supports all else.
In Rublev's icon, the form that most clearly represents the consubstantiality of the Trinity's three hypostases is a circle. It is the foundation of the composition.
The Trinitarian Formula
The Father is God - The Son is God - The Holy Spirit is God.
Three Divine Persons in One Divine Essence.
The Divine Triune God.
Lorence points out the Biblical Testimony naming three distinct persons in the Divine Triune God, proven in The Word of God, Spoken by God and explains: "The Trinitarian Formula is the phrase, 'in the name of The Father and of The Son, and of The Holy Spirit', commanded by Jesus in Matthew 28:19.".
The Power of The Holy Trinity is Infinite. The Father is God. The Son is God. The Holy Spirit is God: three distinct divine persons having one divine essence in the triadic God. It is self-evident that any rational thought process leads us to one inescapable fact: the mortal, finite mind of man, will never understand the Eternal, Infinite Power of God - The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit - These Three Are One: The Holy Trinity.
It is only by spiritual discernment generated by The Spirit of God, The Holy Spirit, that a human being can be Blessed with Faith to Believe in that which the human mind cannot understand and only the Holy Spirit can explain: through Faith in the Son that only the Father can give to the believer who worships the Father in Truth, under the Divine, supernatural guidance and infinitely powerful vision of the Holy Spirit, which the finite eyes of man cannot see.".
And so it was, that well over two decades ago, long before he moved back to North America from the Cayman Islands to care for his Dearly Beloved Mother in Canada, The Word of God became the center of the life of Lorence Hud and remains the center of his life as it is this day, with the heaven-sent spiritual discernment generated by the Seven Fold Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit, continuously opening the Scriptures to him and further unfolding the everlasting, unchanging Truth that Jesus Christ is the Word is God, guiding Lorence with every breath he takes, in every move he makes, to the Glory of God - The Father, The Word and The Holy Spirit - These Three Are ONE.
After reading the facts proven by Court Documents filed by the Supreme Court of Canada, which detail the horrific, surreal ordeal Lorence has been through, we asked him what Jesus Christ means to Lorence Hud; and he succinctly summed it up when he Testified:
"Jesus is God means everything to me. I can't even walk without Him holding my hand.".

With Jesus holding the hand of a true believer he/she receives Divine eternal rivers of living water, empowering them to sail beyond the shallows of their faith and Duc in Altum, as Jesus told Peter, put out into the deep; because Jesus is the Son, is the Way, the Truth and the Life, is Almighty God, the Alpha and the Omega and Testified many times to that fact... in the Bible.
In John 8:58, "Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.". And in John 14:6, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh to the Father but by me.".
The only way to the Father is through the Son and, given the facts in Lorence's Case, it is clear that when Jesus blessed Lorence with his Damascus Road Experience over a quarter of a century ago, and the Holy Spirit opened The Holy Word of God to him, it was the Divine Intervention of The Holy Trinity - The Father, The Word and The Holy Spirit - telling Lorence that his calling is to pray always and, taking the shield of faith:
"Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil and Duc in Altum!"
When a true follower of Christ decides to "put out into the deep", it means putting everything and everyone behind, and putting God and only God before, with eyes fixed on Jesus, faithfully sailing into uncharted waters, not after the flesh but after the Spirit, empowered by the living and powerful Word, being led by the command, "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ." - to fulfill in it's season in God's time, His every purpose under the heaven.
When Jesus Blessed Lorence with his Damascus Road Experience, he learned from the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last, which is and which was and which is to come, the Almighty; that through Faith in the Triune God you must be born again, not in the flesh but in the Spirit, before you can begin to understand the Holy Scriptures; because the only one who can generate Spiritual discernment is the Third Divine Person of the Holy Trinity, the Holy Spirit, sent by JESUS CHRIST our Lord and only Saviour.
Jesus Christ is giving Lorence Hud his eternal reward for doing God's Work, by seeking justice for his mother to the Glory of The Father, The Word and The Holy Spirit.
